SWEDANA
Swedana Karma is a set of techniques in Ayurveda aimed at inducing sweating to alleviate bodily discomforts like stiffness, cold sensations, and heaviness. This therapy also aids in eliminating toxins by liquifying and expelling adherent doshas from peripheral tissues. Depending on the patient's dosha imbalance and condition, various methods are used to promote perspiration and detoxification through the skin.

SNEHANA
Snehana karma, a crucial step in Panchakarma treatment, involves preparing the body by lubricating its cells to dislodge adhering doshas. It can be administered internally (Sneha pana) or externally (Bahya Snehana) using oils like sesame or ghee, with purposes including purification (Shodhana), relief (Shamana), and nourishment (Brimhmana). Internal Sneha can be pure or mixed with other substances, while external application involves techniques like abhyanga.

SHASHTIKA SHALI PINDA SVEDA
Pinda Sveda is one of the most important and special form of treatment in Kerala. It is a process by which the whole body or a part is made to perspire by the application of certain medicinal puddings externally of the decoction the form of boluses tied up in a cloth bag. It is also known by name Navarkizhi.

NASYA KARMA

UDVARTHANA
The powder of different herbs are used for rubbing the body and the strokes are applied with pressure in the opposite direction of the hairs. It is indicated in Vata and Kapha disorders by causing liquefaction of Kapha and Meda (fat), promotes the metabolism and complexion of the skin.

JANU BASTI

BASTI
Vasti is mentioned as one of the five Panchakarma which aims for detoxification of the toxins from the body. It is a process of administering medicated decoction or oil enemas through anal, vaginal or urinary region. Vasti is considered as “Ardha Chikitsa” by Acharya Charak as it is the best treatment in maintaining the quality and quantity of life.
Vasti is considered to be the most effective treatment for vata disorders and Vata dosha being the most significant dosha to control the other two doshas, Vasti plays a major role in ayurvedic treatment.
There are two types of vasti which can be administered on the basis of liquid which is admistered.
1.Anuvasana Vasti admistered with medicated oils.
2.Niruha/Kashaya Vasti admistered with medicated decoction, milk, as per the disease condition.

UTTARA BASTI
Uttara basti ayurvedic treatment is administered in the same way as other basti karma. Liquid used for uttara basti usually in the form of medicated oil or ghee. It is considered a treatment of choice for genital and urinary system. It benefits by pacifying the vitiated apana vayu (type of vata dosha)

VIRECHANA
Virechanam or purgation is done to eliminate accumulated toxins from the alimentary canal, mainly from the small intestine. This procedure helps in eliminating pitta dosha and Kapha dosha.It normalizes the appetite, digestion and assimilation of the body. Virechanam helps to achieve lucidity of thought and stimulates intellectual capacity. It is very effective in the treatment of Pitta and Kapha disorders.

VAMANA
Vamana Chikitsa, or Emesis Therapy, involves controlled, medically-induced vomiting. It is aimed to eliminate excess Kapha Dosha in the body which can otherwise trigger a series of ailments like acne, asthma, arthritis, chronic cold and diabetes etc.
Initially, the patient is given Purvakarma, or preparatory therapy, for three to seven days. Both internal and external oleation are done with medicated ghee or oil and the patient is made to sweat intensely. This directs the excess Kapha to build up in the stomach.
Afterwards main therapy, is given to expel excess Kapha from the body. Patients are made to take medicated herbs in form of kashayam etc to induce vomiting.

SIRODHARA
Sirodhara is the process in which medicated oil, milk, buttermilk or Kvatha is poured in a continuous stream of drip on the head, especially on the forehead in a specific manner.
Depending upon the drug components Dhārā is known by different names viz. Takradhara (Buttermilk), Kshiradhara (Milk), Tailadhara (Oil), Kväthadhara (Kashayam) and Jaladhāra (Water).

ABHYANGA
Abhyanga (massage therapy) is an important therapeutic method and is the most commonly used Pañcakarma therapy for both hearthy people and those with disease. Ayurvedic massage therapy is not just the simple application of oil and massage as it is understood by most people. It involves therapeutic considerations, such as Dosha (bio humors), Dhatu (tissues), Prakriti (constitution), and pharmacological considerations. The therapeutic efficacy of massage therapy depends on the appropriate selection of oil according to the disease, Prakriti, the skill of the therapist, the cooperation of the patient, and any restrictions that need to be followed by the patient during and after treatment.
